The New Engine

The Block after machine shop bored it
The block after I got it back from the machine shop. It is bored .030 over. I had them put in new cam bearings and new freeze plugs.

Starting to put the crank in
Well it has been a while since I took any pictures. I got the block back last summer and painted it. Here I just set the crank in.

Crank is in and torqued in
The crank is in and tightend in with the new ARP main bolts. The little guy is my son Austin, he is waiting for me to get the car back together so we can go cruzing. :-)

Pistons and cam are in
The pistons are in with new ARP rod bolts. I figured I did not know how many miles were on the original ones, and did not want to take the engine back out again any time soon.

Oil pan and Timong cover are on
Here is the new oil pan I got off Ebay for $50. I decided to go with a chrome timing cover because it was what NAPA had on Saturday.

Heads are on
The heads are on. I am also using new ARP bolts here for the same reason.

All most done
Here it sits, I have adjusted the valves and set the intake and valve covers on it to keep the dirt out till next weekend when I think I will start to put the brackets and stuff back on it.
